they cause longitudinal waves and transversal waves.
Generally, longitudinal waves (pressure waves) propagate faster than transversal waves,
longitudinal waves are detected earlier.
Then longitudinal waves are called primary-waves (P-wave) (some 6 km/sec) and
transversal waves are called secondary-waves (S-wave) (some 3.5 km/sec).
The direction seismic waves come into the seismogram is not foreseen in advance,
since seismic waves curve depending on geological features under the ground like below.
since the directions of vibrations differ between longitudinal waves and transversal waves,
proportions over 3 directions (vertical, North-South, East-West) differ.
Then if proportions of accelerations (seismograms) over 3 directions change,
P-wave and S-wave could be distinguished.
For example, if a seismic wave comes from southeast and
from 35° below, the longitudinal wave (P-wave)
vibrates in the direction of "northwest and 35° upward"
(diagonal direction of a cube (tan 35°=1/SQRT(2)), to be precise)
and in the opposite direction (southeast and 35° downward).
In this case, the acceleration of the P-wave would be recorded in the same strength
in the 3 directions (channels) of the seismograph.
(The proportions are the same in the 3 directions.)
However, the subsequent
transversal wave (S-wave) wouldn't vibrate in different directions,
since vibration of a transversal wave naturally differs
from vibration of a longitudinal wave.
The directions of the transversal wave would be just for example "northeast" and "southwest"
without vertical direction. (At least the proportions in the 3 directions are not the same.)
Then P-wave and S-wave's proportions over the 3 channels differ and can be

2 major peaks at the beginning of the detection.

Basically, spent fuel rods (assemblies) would be cooled in pools for 3 to 5 years.

for maintenance, water in the reactor would be discharged (for maintenance).

water as well as the SFP and the reactor.)

the pressure could reach a pressure of 7 atmospheres.
For example, 5 atmospheres (5+1=6 atmospheres, to be precise) corresponds to
5 kg weight per cm2,
50,000 kg weight per m2, 5,000,000 kg weight per 100 m2 (10 m x 10 m).
It would break concrete walls or a roof.
In other words, 5 atmospheres (6 atmospheres) corresponds to
pressure of 50 m depth for example at a dam.

Other than that, since hydrogen stays horizontally just under the ceiling,
the expansion could be rather horizontal near the top of the building.)
According to later government report of Unit 4 below (page 29),
the building is 47 m x 47 m x 47 m cubic,
the walls of Unit buildings are made of reinforced concrete
some 25 cm (5th floor) and 40 cm (4th floor) in thickness
(as far as Unit 4, to be precise).
(The "1st floor" means the ground floor.)
Generally, withstanding load of reinforced concrete walls is not so strong.
For example as far as reinforced concrete floor slab, withstanding load weight of
10 cm thickness reinforced concrete floor slab would be roughly 200 kg weight/ m2,
30 cm thickness would be roughly 1,000 kg weight/ m2.

A mushroom cloud would be created because of a sudden
emergence of extremely high temperature large entity moving like a hot-air balloon.
A mushroom cloud reaching over 300 m high couldn't be created by
a chemical hydrogen explosion.
There would be twice explosions, the 1st emitting the flash and
the 2nd blowing up gray fumes including radioactive debris.
TEPCO accordingly announced that there were twice explosions in Unit 3.
The 1st explosion would be at the southern part of Unit 3 building near the spent fuel pool
and the 2nd would be at the central part of Unit 3 building near the reactor.
(There could be a false report that the 2nd explosion of Unit 3 occurred at 11:00 on March 15.)

4th floor (above the reactor)
and the spent fuel pool of Unit 4 building.
However, not only the 4th floor, Unit 4 building was severely destroyed like Unit 3.
According to the government report of Unit 4, there would be at least 2 explosions in Unit 4 building.
One was at the southwestern part on the 4th floor.
The other would be at the northwestern part on the 3rd floor.
(In addition, it was reported that the 3rd explosion could possibly be on the 5th floor.)
The movie of Unit 4 explosion was exclusively provided by TV9 Karnataka, South India.
The movie was supposedly filmed by
Fukushima Central Television Co., Ltd. and
